Yonsei Mirae Campus has conducted a course on ‘Climate Change, Food Crisis, and Agricultural Development’ since 2014. This course highlights that while industrialization strives for economic growth and development it has left agriculture and overlooked environmental issues, resulting in tragedy of the commons problems including climate change, environmental pollution, food crisis and natural disasters. Also, it is based on the fact that agriculture is directly linked to foods which is essential to human life and cannot be regarded separately from environmental issues in the context of SDG 2.4 ‘By 2030, ensure sustainable food production systems and implement resilient agricultural practices that increase productivity and production, that help maintain ecosystems, that strengthen capacity for adaptation to climate change, extreme weather, drought, flooding and other disasters and that progressively improve land and soil quality’. It is a course to discuss the way sustainable development should focus on the topic of agriculture in international development. Specifically, it deals with 'food crisis and poverty, the importance of agricultural development, the globalization of agriculture' and 'environmental issues, climate change and natural disasters in international development' at the same time.

Recently, the importance of food safety is increasing due to climate change, COVID-19, and international conflicts. In particular, Korea relies on imports for 80% of its food, and food safety problems are intensifying. The video was produced to draw attention to the low awareness of food self-sufficiency.
