Producing upcycling products with sea waste

Yonsei University Institute of Continuing Education for the Future has signed a business agreement with Korea Maritime Fisheries New Intellectual Association (KMFNA), whose goal is to provide opportunities for re-education of fisheries and related CEOs. They mainly focus on responding to changes in the future management paradigm through a new knowledge of marine and fisheries curriculum, which is expected to achieve SDG 14.2 By 2020, sustainably manage and protect marine and coastal ecosystems to avoid significant adverse impacts, including by strengthening their resilience, and take action for their restoration in order to achieve healthy and productive oceans.

PuREfy aims to solve marine pollution problem by treating sea waste that is hard to be recycled as it contains salt and water. They especially focus on sea glass, one of the marine wastes, and make upcycled products made of it. Through the team homepage and SNS, they also speak out the seriousness of marine pollution and the necessity of marine environment protection, which would ultimately help achieve SDG 14.1 By 2025, prevent 뭉 significantly reduce marine pollution of all kinds, in particular from land-based activities, including marine debris and nutrient pollution.
