2024 Tap Water Evaluation Committee Symposium
The Seoul Metropolitan Tap Water Evaluation Committee (Chairman Nam Won-jun, Professor at Yonsei University, Department of Industrial and Environmental Health) held a symposium at the Press Center, titled “The Future of Seoul’s Tap Water, Arisu.”

The committee, composed of water quality experts, civic groups, and city council members, has been managing the quality of Arisu through regular water quality inspections and the “Healthy and Delicious Water Guidelines.”

The symposium featured presentations on future water treatment plants responding to climate change, the hazards of microplastics, international cases of minimized chlorine disinfection, and citizens’ drinking water usage patterns.

Speakers discussed the safety, environmental sustainability, technological innovation, and public perception of tap water.
