Yonsei University's Institute for Global Engagement and Empowerment and Light Sound Friends, Partnership Agreement Concluded
Seoul, February 5, 2024 — Yonsei University's Institute for Global Engagement and Empowerment (IGEE) and the Light Sound Friends (LSF) have concluded a new partnership agreement on February 5, 2024. This agreement is expected to lay an important foundation for mutual cooperation and sustainable development between the two organizations.
At the agreement ceremony, IGEE's chairman Shinki An and LSF's representative Youngmook Choi attended. Both organizations emphasized the necessity of cooperation for the achievement of common goals and expressed expectations for future activities.
IGEE, established in 2017, dedicates itself to social participation, aligning with the founding spirit of Yonsei. Through the annual Global Engagement and Empowerment Forum (GEEF) , the institute contributes to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals and takes a pioneering role in addressing major issues in the international community.
LSF, established in 2006 under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea, is committed to protecting the dignity and cultural rights of the disabled, discovering and supporting disabled artists, and realizing a discrimination-free cultural welfare society through arts and culture. They offer various programs to support the artistic activities and independent living of disabled artists, striving for a society with equal cultural welfare.
Both organizations plan to generate greater synergy through future cooperation. In particular, a special performance by LSF is scheduled at the GEEF 2024 Gala Dinner, an event expected to symbolize the collaboration between the two organizations.
Yonsei University and LSF anticipate that this agreement will lead the way in practicing sustainable development and social responsibility.
