IGEE at Yonsei University

The Global Engagement & Empowerment Forum on Sustainable Development(GEEF), took place at Yonsei University and was co-hosted by the IGEE, the Ban Ki-moon Foundation for a Better Future and the Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens (BKMC).

GEEF is an international event that brings together all stakeholders, from ordinary citizens to national and international experts, and facilitates cooperation and joint efforts toward accomplishing the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

GEEF 2023, as the cornerstone for fulfilling the mission and vision of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), was organized under the theme of 'Turning Point: From Crisis into Opportunity', which reaffirmed the potential of humanity leading cooperation against the pandemic.

The course is designed for people who want to learn about the latest development agenda the international community agreed to achieve by 2030. Structured around the five pillars of Agenda 2030 – people, prosperity, planet, peace and justice, and partnership, students will learn that these pillars are interconnected and need to be integrated into practical policy-making and operational activities for development, in both developed and developing country settings. Following an introductory module on the main concepts of Agenda 2030 and the SDGs, successive modules will provide the foundation behind the SDGs for people, prosperity and planet, peace and partnership. A final module will explore the way forward and provide channels that the young generation can participate in to integrate the SDGs into the policy-making of the students’ resident countries.

GEEF 2022, as the cornerstone for fulfilling the mission and vision of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), was organized under the theme of REMEMBER Our Common Future, focusing on examining the progress of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and facilitating discourse on the future directions of SDGs in the post COVID-19 era.
